How does Dr. Gilbert Create a Custom Treatment Plan Just for You?
Applied Kinesiology is a special technique that Dr. Gilbert uses as a diagnostic tool, which helps to determine the precise location of a patient’s structural interference, as well as the appropriate therapy needed to remove that interference. Stated simply, if we imagine the body as a gigantic fuse box, when something is wrong it becomes overwhelming to hold a strong muscle (indicator) when we add a little "juice' or stimulation to that area that needs help. Thus, when a vertebra or organ in question is irritated further, one’s muscle becomes temporarily weak - and therein lies the clue to helping that patient! It is a pretty amazing sight to see a strong man who is unable to hold his arm up when Dr. Gilbert gently presses a point on his back, who then is able to stay strong after Dr. Gilbert adjusts him.
How does Applied Kinesiology Help Dr. Gilbert?
Being an AK practitioner requires years of study and a very detailed knowledge and understanding of the body’s muscles, organs, glands, tissues, and systems. Applied Kinesiology integrates the "triad of health" in which mental, chemical, and structural stresses are examined to look deeply at the causes and solutions involved in a patient's complaint.
To help alleviate a patient's chief complaint, we use several traditional as well as more sophisticated therapies including chiropractic and fascial manipulation, myofascial release, cranial techniques, clinical nutrition and dietary management. Often Dr. Gilbert will test for environmental or food sensitivities as part of his approach to care, using AK as his diagnostic tool.
